In any endeavor, sometimes it is more educational to consider what one shouldn’t do than it is to focus solely on the right thing to do. In this article, we’ll take a look at the common mistakes churches make in the audio, video and lighting (a/v/l) arena—while also considering what steps can be taken to avoid these pitfalls.
The biggest take-away from this article is: do not delay in bringing your audio, video, lighting and acoustical consultants into the project. If they aren’t talking to your architect right from the start, you’re already behind the curve—and additional delay will only result in higher building costs or poor performance of your A/V/L systems.
