General Event Information

Where is WFX being held?

WFX Charlotte is being held at the Charlotte Convention Center in Charlotte, NC. The Convention Center is located at 501 S College Street.

What are the dates of WFX?

WFX Charlotte is taking place October 27 - 30, 2009. Conference sessions will run October 27 - 30 and the Expo will run October 29 -30.

I need a hotel reservation. What are my options?

I am driving to WFX. Where can I park?

The Charlotte Convention Center has parking available at prevailing rates in parking lots and towers surrounding the Charlotte Convention Center. For parking rates and driving directions, please call 704-339-6000 or visit www.charlotteconventionctr.com/directions/parking.aspx.

I’m staying at an official WFX hotel. Are there shuttles to the Charlotte Convention Center?

Official WFX hotels are within 1 mile of the Convention Center so shuttles will not be provided.

Is there any discounted airfare to Charlotte?

WFX has negotiated discounted airfare through Jet Blue to Charlotte. Jet Blue will offer a 5% discount on all travel from anywhere in the continental United States to Douglas International Airport in Charlotte between October 24th and November 1st. For details, check out our travel page.

Can I take public transportation to WFX?

Yes, public transportation is available. For information regarding public transportation in Charlotte, visit www.charmeck.org/Departments/CATS/Home.htm.

REGISTRATION

When is registration open?

Tuesday, October 27: 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM - After Hours Lounge
Wednesday, October 28: 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Thursday, October 29: 7:30 AM - 5:00 PM
Friday, October 30: 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM

Badges will not be mailed prior to WFX Charlotte. Your bar code confirmation email was sent to you on Thursday, October 22. Print that email and bring it with you to WFX where you will scan the bar code at the Check-In counters located in the Registration area of the Charlotte Convention Center. If you did not receive your bar code email, registered after 10/22 or need to re-print the confirmation, please visit the Registration Desk.

I registered but can’t attend. Can I send a colleague in my place?

If you are registered to attend WFX but would like to send a colleague in your place, we will be able to change the name on the registration. To do so before the event, please call WFX at 800-598-6031 or direct your colleague to the Attendee Assistance Desk in the registration area onsite.

Can I bring my children to WFX?

For safety, security and liability reasons, persons under 16 years of age are not admitted to WFX. Unfortunately there can be no exceptions to this age restriction policy; please plan accordingly.

Are there any openings for the Chuch Tours?

If you have signed up for a church tour and reserved your spot on the bus, please note that transportation leaves the Charlotte Convention Center at 5:30pm and returns to the Convention Center at 8:00pm. For those driving themselves, please plan on arriving at the church at 6:00pm. You can get directions at the Registration Counters at the Convention Center.

Church Tours are open to Conference attendees. If you have not signed up for a church tour, check in at registration for availability.

How can I learn more about the Conference sessions?

When is the Exhibit Hall open and where is it located?

The Exhibit Hall will be open on Thursday and Friday only. The Exhibit Hall will be open:

Thursday, October 29: 11:30am – 5:30pm
Friday, October 30: 11:30am – 4:00pm

You will receive a Show Directory onsite that will contain an Expo Floor Plan in the center pull-out section.

Where can I find a schedule of events and how will I know where to go?

You may pick up a schedule of events onsite at the Registration Area. Your onsite Show Directory and Directory Addendum will contain complete event details including conference session schedules, descriptions, and room assignments.

Is there somewhere for me to check email at the show?

Yes! The Social Media Lounge will be located on the Expo Hall during Expo Hours on Thursday and Friday.

Is there a Baggage Check available?

Complimentary bag check will be available Friday, October 30 at the WFX Registration Counters.
